The Wine

This Vermentino was aged on the lees for four months in stainless steel. You can taste the sea and minerality while enjoying the complexity that comes from the lees contact.

Phylika was the name of a Greek slave whose depiction was found alongside of the shell pottery. Poggio Rosso translates to ‘Red Hill.’ The shell image is from Etruscan pottery found in the area of Populonia.

The People

The Monelli family owns Tenuta Poggio Rosso, a winery they revitalized in the area where their peasant ancestors lived. This region is expressed through the flavor of the sea, the minerality of the soil and the elegance obtained within the vineyards.
