The Wine

This wine spends 12 months in barriques of 2nd and 3rd use then another 12 months further bottle aging before release. The smooth, inviting profile is the result of such patience.

Tages was the son of Mother Earth and the Etruscan divinity who synthesized in himself the purity of youth and the experience of the mature man. Poggio Rosso translates to ‘Red Hill.’ The shell image is from Etruscan pottery found in the area of Populonia.

The People

The Monelli family owns Tenuta Poggio Rosso, a winery they revitalized in the area where their peasant ancestors lived. This region is expressed through the flavor of the sea, the minerality of the soil and the elegance obtained within the vineyards.
